British Champs 2026: Warriors, Electro Swing Duetists, and two Kingston Soloists take to the boom.

The Swim England Artistic Swimming National Championships returned to Nottingham, 25-26 April 2026 for two days of elite domestic competition. The event sees artistic swimmers from across the country come together to compete in a wide-ranging programme including technical and free events at the highest national level. In order to qualify for the event swimmers must be aged 15+ and hold Grade 5. The highest grade in our sport. It's safe to say competition is fierce, and what an honour it is to be in the same body of water as Ranjou, Kate and Izz. We have made it guys!!

The competition began on Saturday with the Free Solos (Bianca Mocanu and Lilia Camilleri), who after an early start shook off the nerves and strutted onto the boom. Both swimmers did themselves and their coaches proud, performing to the judges with artistic flair and giving it everything they had. Bianca's solo is incredibly hard and has the longest apnea (time underwater) of any Kingston routine. And Lilia's routine demands an artistic flair that would challenge any swimmer. We're so proud of how these two swimmers did, well done girls!

Later that day after some pizza, lots of walk-throughs in the sun, and some much needed affirmation and guided breath work to calm the nerves, the Warrior Women Free Team were up. Kingston were last to compete (team number 17) and it was late into the evening. The swimmers (Aoife Comber, Amy, Kukula, Bianca Mocanu, Ella Wilson, Lilia Camilleri and Miranda Doherty) managed to keep their energy high and performed the routine with brilliant artistic flair and commitment to the theme. Well done girls.

On Sunday Amy and Aoife took to the pool again and warmed up for their duet performance. The hardest duet the Club has ever attempted the fast-paced Electro Swing routine demands sharp, tricky hybrids, and lots of time underwater, and then huge smiles and dancing in the transitions - no mean feat! Amy and Aoife put their nerves to one side and had a fantastic swim, and enjoyed every single moment, sharing huge hugs when they finished.

Well done to all of the girls that competed this year, we did our Club and ourselves proud, we learnt a lot, and are already buzzing for next year!
