Swim England Combo Cup 2025 Recap

5th July 2025 - Ponds Forge Sheffield

by Rockets Team Captain Bianca Mocanu

On Saturday the 5th of July, Kingston Asc competed at the Swim England Combo Cup held at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield, one of the most prestigious venues in British swimming.

The atmosphere was electric, the routines were outstanding, and the teamwork was inspiring. From our youngest 12&U swimmers, to our experienced division 2 teens, every athlete gave their all on the national stage. It was a day filled with pride, passion, and plenty of Kingston shine!

Recount of the day

The day began with our wonderful Neptunus team showcasing their Moana routine in the 15&U division 1 category. The girls powered through this routine and despite the challenging scoring system, they managed to score an amazing 62.30000 in their first national competition.

Next up was our new Shuttles team, performing the iconic “Soy Yo” routine, who have recently been introduced to division 2 in the 12&U category. Their competition was extremely tough but their awesome facials and brilliant energy secured them a bronze medal scoring 97.8383 points with their artistic impression being through the roof. Their supportive attitude throughout stood out and we can’t wait to show you what is in store for next year.

After a speedy lunch break, we saw a return from our Saturn team swimming their disco party routine. This year they challenged themselves by competing in the 15+ division 1 category for the first time and impressively achieved a silver medal with a total 97.6933 points. A huge thanks to our Rockets swimmer Amelia who travelled all the way to Sheffield in order to step in at the last minute, allowing the Saturn’s to compete. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed and together, the girls put on an amazing performance.

Last but not least, our Senior competitive Rockets team closed the competition with their new Warrior women routine, in the 15+ Division 2 category (the hardest in the competition). Their huge efforts throughout the season paid off and they secured 3rd place on the national stage out of 10 fiercely competitive teams. With a grand total of 111.6117 points, the Rockets managed to achieve the highest Artistic Impression score from the whole competition due to their ferocious facial expressions and unique choreography.

Overall Kingston finished in fourth place overall in the Combo Cup rankings (the highest we’ve ever placed) and left Sheffield with our heads held high and lots of metal to bring home!

A special thank you goes to our incredible parents and team of coaches who volunteer their time not only on competition day but also behind the scenes, making efforts to ensure every competition runs smoothly. From early-morning travel to hours spent poolside aiding swimmers, their enthusiasm is at the heart of Kingston’s success. Let’s get ready for the 2026 season!
