9th March 2026
What a weekend! On the 7th and 8th of March, our talented swimmers travelled to Gloucester to compete in the National Age Group and Youth Championships 2026. Facing off against the best clubs in the country, Kingston Artistic Swimming Club proved that hard work, extra sparkly costumes, and team spirit are a winning combination.
From breakthrough figure scores to "roaring" routine performances, here is how the weekend unfolded.
Day One: Precision and Focus in Figures
The championships began with the Figures competition—the technical foundation of our sport. In the 12 and Under category, our young athletes set the bar high. A huge shout-out to Annalise Carter, who secured a phenomenal 7th place overall in the 10 and Under category! Close behind was Anna Petrachova, who clinched 32nd place in a very large field. These are incredible results at a national level.
Further success came from Mabel Harrop and Evie Carter, whose strong individual figure scores combined to qualify them for the Duet competition the following day.
Swimmer | Score | Rank |
Annalise Carter | 51.4342 | 7 (10&U) |
Anna Petrachova | 54.1067 | 32 |
Evie Carter | 53.6135 | 34 |
Mabel Harrop | 53.2488 | 39 |
Alisa Sorina | 50.0667 | 65 |
Nina Steel | 49.4623 | 68 |
Rosalia Lewandowska | 45.1333 | 82 |
In the 13-15 Youth category, the competition is notoriously fierce and the figures are incredibly demanding, and one wrong move (by an inch) can score you a zero for a hybrid. We are so proud of our Youth swimmers, who attacked these difficult figures with focus and poise, especially after a lot of queuing to perform. Their execution was a testament to the hours of training they’ve put in at the pool.
Swimmer | Score | Rank |
Aimee Green | 47.1364 | 117 |
Emmanuelle Bramwell | 46.3334 | 119 |
Lena Zrilic | 46.0909 | 120 |
Jodie Blake | 44.1818 | 128 |
Bella Brown | 37.7575 | 137 |
Helena Kajand Mazzaglia | 33.4243 | 149 |
Angel Markova | 32.8940 | 152 |
Laura Goscinka | 28.6970 | 157 |
Gemma Young | 28.3485 | 158 |
Day Two: Let the Routines Begin!
Sunday was all about the performance, and Kingston swimmers brought the drama to the water enjoying their time to shine.
The "Cruella" Duet (12 & Under): Mabel and Evie kicked off the morning with their Cruella-themed duet. Entering the day in 12th place after figures, the girls knew they had to deliver something special. With a high Degree of Difficulty (DD 10.60) and plenty of theatrical flair, they wowed the judges and moved up the rankings to finish 11th in the country. Well done, girls!
The "Jurassic Park" Free Team (12 & Under): Next up was our 12 and Under Free Team, and they certainly made an impact! Performing to the iconic sounds of Jurassic Park, the girls delivered what coaches described as their best swim ever. Featuring clean pattern changes, impressive acrobatics (so high!), and of course plenty of roaring (because why not?), the team was unstoppable. Having started the day in 6th place, their incredible swim pushed them up to 5th place overall. To be able to say that Kingston currently has the 5th best 12 and under team in the nation is a staggering achievement. There were plenty of tears of joy from parents and coaches alike... dreams really are coming true for this group!
The "Spiderverse" Free Team (13-15 Youth): Closing out the weekend for Kingston was our fabulous 13-15 Free Team. Swimming to music from the Spiderman films, the girls took on a complicated routine (DD 17.45 filled with tricky acrobatics. They rose to the challenge, performing with energy and precision to secure 12th place. The smiles on the swimmers' faces as they exited the pool said it all, they left everything in the water and we couldn't be prouder of them.

A Note from the Coaches
We couldn’t be prouder of every single swimmer who represented Kingston this weekend. National championships are as much about mental toughness as they are about physical skill, and our athletes showed both in spades.
A huge thank you to the coaches for their tireless dedication, and to the parents for their "loud and proud" support in the stands. Moving forward coaches will be analysing swims and digging deep into judges scores and feedback so that we can continue to build on this success for the rest of this competition season and beyond.
